When designing a production process, traditionally we look at profitability. The quality of the product must, of course, also be guaranteed. These days ‘quality’ is a concept that covers many issues. Quality does not just include the immediately quantifiable issues of the end products; quality is, in our perception, the complete image involving all aspects used by a company to show itself through its operational management. Natural resources are utilised and energy consumed when products are produced and, at the same time, waste products are produced. Quality, food safety, environmental management, employment and health and safety aspects are issues that are approached integrally in relation to operational management. Responsible entrepreneurship, therefore, becomes apparent, in our perception, through 'quality in operation'.
